Simple question: which car do you see a whole bunch that you probably shouldn’t? Either due to it being an unpopular car or something that doesn’t fit with where you are. For example, I see a stupidly large amount of Malibu Maxxes here in Ottawa, to the tune of at least one or two a day (and the occasional SS model), which seems pretty strange, considering what it is.

It’s tricky nailing down how to answer this question - how much of the “regularly see” would be a number of local cars, for example. If it’s a strikingly uncommon car that three people who commute at the same time as you or go to the same restaurants drive, then it skews the perception, but probably isn’t a statistical anomaly. For example, I see Subaru Bajas, VW Rabbit pickups, Suzuki Samurais, and Chevy LUVs very often, but a significant percentage of the sightings (probably 80%+) is one particular one of each.

I used to live in a neighbourhood where one person cruised around in one of a similar colour. It looks so stupid with the roof up.

You’ve got a fair point. How about, even if you travel outside of your normal routes, you still see them? Back to the Maxx, I see them in Byward, on Elgin, out in Gloucester, fucking everywhere.

When I lived in Florida, I used to see Kizashis daily.

Weird. That seems more like a Vermont car. Also, who the hell bought a Kizashi*?
*Other than Canadians, who apparently love the thing.

TVR Tuscans. There are 3 of them where I live (2 convertibles, one coupe) and I assume they are daily drivers as I see them all the time.

Ah, so perhaps revealing of an unrecognized confirmation bias, then, or a model which is easy to ID for some reason or easy to note - possibly uninvestigated. For me, then, such a vehicle would be probably the 80s G-body Olds, the 90s Monte Carlo or the late 90s bubble Taurus, with late 90s/early 2000s Subaru *sedan* to taste.

Early 90’s Oldsmobile Cutlasses and Mercury Sables/ Ford Taurii. I thought all of the Cutlasses had returned to earth and my SHO was the anomaly.

I was having a bit of trouble here, because the area I live in, there’s nothing much you wouldn’t expect to see - everything from R32 Skylines to Avantimes goes past fairly regularly. And then I remembered that I pass this quite often:

Can confirm: Ottawa has an oddly large number of Malibu Maxxes.
We also seem to have a lot of PT Cruisers (not that unusual) but in eerily excellent condition. (VERY unusual) O.o

These are fairly common in my area as well. Between relatively heavy winters, as well as some blazing hot summers, people seem to justify buying them.

Probably the most uncommon car I see fairly regularly is the Mercedes R Class. But then again, maybe I just realize them so often because you don't forget a Mercedes Minivan.

SAAB 9-4X.
There are six around Raleigh. Which is fairly astonishing, because they built lass than 500 of them.

Definitely, but not as much as it would be in most other parts of London. It really is varied round here. There’s some guy with two or three old Caddies, round the corner from that is a newish Corvette, a project sixties/seventies muscle car in someone’s garage, that kind of thing. Just talking about the Americana there, there’s loads of other stuff too.
One of my personal faves is here:
They’re teensy little things - and the guy’s clearly into them because he has several, and they change from time to time (as you can see if you look back through streetview’s history). Don’t miss the ones in his driveway opposite :)

Very cool. And also, thank you for pointing out that Streetview has easy access to past photos. I’ve been looking for an old photo of my house since you can see my dog (who passed away) in the front window.

For some strange reason, there are a ton of Lincoln MarkLT pickups around me. I see at least one a week, and I know I’ve seen roughly 5-6 different ones.
There’s also a Saab 9-7x and an Acura ZDX that I see regularly. Someone who works at the local post office owns an Izusu Axiom
